Hi darlings! My name is Megan. I'm the assistant/behind the scenes girl here at Glamour and Boudoir by Glamour Bitch! I've communicated with many of you through emails/social media and sometimes get the pleasure of meeting you at the studio. If we haven't spoken or met, I hope to someday! Anyway, I'm writing this to talk about the photo shoot I had with my lovely bosses Dawn & Shannon. Like many of our clients, I was a nervous wreck! I may be an easy going gal but me in front of a camera? Half naked?! Oh boy! We're our own biggest critics ladies and despite working for a photography studio, I'm very hard on myself. I've never had a photo shoot or considered doing one. However, Dawn and Shannon quickly convinced me otherwise. I must say, all of you lovely ladies also gave me the courage to get in front of Dawn's Nikon. Reading your positive feedback and seeing your smiling faces at the studio made me want to get in on the action. Once you get over the silly voice in your head saying "you're not model material", all that's left is showing up ready for endless possibilities! After a wardrobe run through, a much needed cup of espresso and Shannon's magical hair/makeup application, I was ready to go! Much to my surprise, the actual photo shoot was a breeze! Dawn guided me throughout the entire shoot. ("Where do I put my hand? How's my hair? Does my butt look big?) Questions Dawn heard a million times that day (what a saint) but bared with me. The room was full of laughter, fun, and poses you didn't think were in your range of possibility! Trust me when I say I had no idea I could look the way I do in my pictures. I love them! Although I'm lucky enough to have Dawn & Shannon as my bosses, they're wonderful girls just to hang out with. Aside from being AMAZING at what they do, they genuinely want to make each girl that steps through our door feel beautiful, and they do. If you haven't already, I hope you all build up the courage to do a boudoir shoot with us. I promise you'll be happy you did it! xoxo Megan
Every once in a while I get an urge to do something different. I like a challenge. I like to learn. I like to grow. I've definitely learned that if I am going to grow, I need to try new things. Learning to shoot and find my groove in a new studio after being in the same place for the last 4 years is definitely a challenge. When I first learned to shoot glamour and boudoir photos using strobes and other sources of artificial light, and only recently have I found a style of shooting with natural light that I love. I was dying to experiment with some beautiful portraits with a clean, classic look rather than the same old Victoria's Secret push up bras and crazy backgrounds. So I dug around on Pinterest for a couple of weeks for some inspiration and pulled it together. Using a few vintage slips I found at an amazing shop in Rhode Island this summer and busting out my sewing machine to make a tutu, everything started coming together. Carlee came to the shoot with some simple wardrobe items and Shannon blew it way with her hair and makeup skills. Determined to shoot with only natural light and a couple of white reflectors, I can't believe how amazing these images came out. I am so grateful to Carlee and Shannon for helping me to execute my vision and for allowing me to "just do my thing." PS... There are still 2 more sets of images from this shoot I have to share! Stay tuned.
Glamour and Boudoir by Glamour Bitch Photography has officially opened our new studio! So far, it has exceeded every one of our expectations and we think you will agree. We are now located in the quaint and charming heart of Collingswood, NJ, just a short drive from the old studio. Our gorgeous new space offers clean beautiful light, original hard wood floors, crown molding and a vintage feel both inside and out. All of these little details are now making our sessions even more unique and even more glamorous than before. The studio easily accessible via car or train, especially since we are located right next to the Collingswood PATCO station. There are TONS of great restaurants and cute boutiques located in our neighborhood, too.
Take a peek at some of the photos, and make sure you come check us out in person. You can also see photos from Susan and Shannon's session in our new space in previous posts!
While shooting the images featured in this post, I grabbed this behind the scenes shot of Kristen and Shannon between sets. Just a little peek into how relaxed and casual we like to keep things during a shoot. Oh yeah, and we destroy the place. Lol.
